Vernon has a desire to see the children in our church and in our community be changed by the Word of God. He believes Children’s ministry is about building a foundation that can be added to as each child grows in their walk with the Lord. He wants church to be fun and exciting for the children, but knows that fun and exciting games and programs don’t change lives, God’s Word does. Before joining the staff here in 2008, Vernon served on staff at Sky Ranch for nearly 15 years. Vernon met his wife Rachel while working at Sky Ranch, and was actually married there.
Rachel served for 7 years at Sky Ranch, teaching Environmental Science to 5th and 6th graders. She now stays home with their 3 children, Andrew, Matthew, and Libby.
Vernon loves sports, particularly football and baseball. He grew up in Oklahoma and is a Sooner fan, as well as Dallas Cowboys and Atlanta Braves fan. He loves spending time and wrestling with his children and Rachel, although Rachel isn’t much of a wrestler.
