Andrew Pressley – Assistant Pastor, Music Ministry

Andrew Pressley
Born to Christian parents in South Carolina, Andrew was blessed to be raised in the wisdom of Scripture and the community of the church. He realized his need for Christ at a young age and followed through in believer’s baptism shortly thereafter. Andrew’s passion for church music arose in the context of the local church, where he participated in choirs, worship leading, and discipleship.
With roots in Greenville, Andrew studied music at the Fine Arts Center of Greenville County, Anderson University, and the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He now holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music and a Masters of Divinity in Church Music. His interests include aesthetics, theology, choral conducting, composition, and recording. A competent worship leader, Andrew plays guitar, percussion, keyboard instruments, mandolin, and banjo. He has served as a worship pastor since the age of 19.
Andrew’s ministry objective is to glorify God by equipping the saints, edifying the church, and testifying to the gospel by utilizing gifts God has graciously fostered in the local church. He has a strong heart for Biblical multi-generational worship, and employs excellent music from many appropriate styles. While working with excellence and diligence for the Lord, Andrew finds great joy in seeing believers align their lives and Jesus’ church with the standards of Scripture. He joined the staff at First Baptist Church in September 2009. Andrew also enjoys mountain biking, backpacking, word puzzles, poetry, and golf.
